The first time we came here was in February 2024, and decided to come back today (November 11th) since we were in the area. We started off with the Banh Beo appetizer (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Water Fern Cakes) - I ordered it because I read other comments on Yelp about it, and was curious as to what it was. All I can say is that it is delicious...absolutely delicious!! It has the umami factor due to the shredded dried shrimp topping (along with other savory ingredients). Because I'm a beef-y kinda girl, I had ordered the Shaking Beef with Jasmine Rice and The Husband ordered the Basil Eggplant Chicken with Jasmine Rice. The Shaking Beef came with a small side salad and onions/red peppers, but the star was a beautiful vision of tender and succulent beef cubes/chunks in a delectable sauce. I don't know what the marinade or sauce was, but I had told Bach (our sweet server) that I could have their Shaking Beef every day! The Husband was happy with his entree, so it was a win-win! I would be remiss if I didn't add that along with our entrees Bach had brought us complimentary bowls of what looks like Egg Drop Soup. I had asked her what the 3 containers of condiments on an oblong tray were, and she said they were chili oil (made in-house), soy sauce, and chili sauce (store-bought) which were to be added to the soup, if desired. So, because I'm somewhat of a purist, I opted for the chili oil made in-house and scooped a tad of the chili bits to add to my soup. Normally I'm not a chili bits or chili oil kinda girl, but I'm glad I did add it, because their chili bits added a little sumpin' sumpin' to the soup! If you find yourself in the Tri-Valley area (Union City, Newark, Fremont), don't sleep on this wonderful Vietnamese Restaurant. There's a reason why they have a high rating on Yelp - delicious food, and wonderful people (I'm looking at you, Bach!). Rating: 10 out of 10, but since Yelp has only a 5-star rating, Tramy's rates a 5 out of 5.

I visited Tramy's for an early dinner on a Friday night. The place had a few people inside, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered the Banh Beo and the Bun Combination Plate with Lemongrass Pork. The Banh Beo had a thicker steamed rice base, making it a bit gritty. It was topped generously with mung bean, dried shrimp crumble, fried shallots, and scallions. The toppings were a bit heavy, and the sauce was spicier than expected. Overall, the Banh Beo was good but not my favorite and felt a bit on the heavy side. The Bun Combination Plate came with lemongrass pork, grilled shrimp, and an egg roll. The pork was flavorful and tender, the shrimp was delicious, and the egg roll was one of the best I've had in the area. All the proteins were fresh and well-balanced in flavor. The pickles were good, although the lettuce could have been fresher. The Bun was top-notch. They also gave us a complementary egg drop soup with veggies. It was not very good since it had overcooked or canned veggies and it was way too thick. It was slightly satisfying with the egg. I didn't judge it too harshly since it was complementary. The service was attentive, but the ambiance felt a bit off with numerous TVs and LED string lights. Additionally, the paper menus could use some reorganization so that they all face the same direction.

Tucked away in the back corner of a strip mall in Ardenwood, I was happy to finally notice Tramy's and give it a try for lunch. I had Basil Eggplant Chicken and my friend had the Special Combo with Lemongrass Pork (not pictured). Both dishes were aromatic, tender, juicy, and served very quickly and piping hot. My only note is that the eggplant dish is slightly on the oily side, so I added more rice to my leftovers. Service was fine, prices were good for the large portions, and the dining room had ample seating. Tons of free parking.

Picked up a snack from this charming vietnamese eatery this past weekend, and had a positive experience. The vegetarian eggrolls were filled with a ground mix of veggies, a sort of mush, where you couldn't really savor the flavors of the vegetables, not that good, but edible. Luckily the crab-shrimp eggrolls made up for this, these were really good, fresh tasting and flavorful, quality ingredients, I'd definitely return for more. Ordered online in advance and it was ready in about 10-15 minutes. Staff was friendly, and the restaurant setting was clean and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating available, and plenty of parking in the plaza.

I was skeptic at first because the place look lonely and only had one or two customers eating inside, (weekday) but I decided to give it a try and I wasn't disappointed! The service is good, prices are affordable and the place is clean and really organized. This is my new recommendation to you hungry folks out there.

We decided to try this place for lunch and it didn't disappoint. We had the pho, beef and rice, fried rice and egg rolls. Pretty large portions so we had a ton of leftovers. The service was a little slow tho, so one star off for that. Otherwise it was good and I'd try again if I had more time to spare.
